HOW ABOUT TIMELINES, WHITEPAPER & TOKENOMICS?
For people who have been following us for a while, or for instance, have been observing treespaces.io or our main ecosystem site magictribe.one, it is pretty clear it has taken a while to grow into the position we are now. In our whitepaper, we set out timelines somewhere around March, yet made these provisional on the private sales of our utility/gaming token Magic Karma. As with any start-up, we have encountered some real obstacles. Not all pilots we wanted to get on board, did come on board. The pilots that genuinely engaged with us, have needed their time to evolve. Learning about web3 and blockchain technology does take its time. Funding is also an important part of the ballgame. We have had many talks with many people and organisations in order to attract more funding. There is a lot involved with bringing about the conditions for larger capital to step in. VCs want to see traction, community growth, financial plan, tokenomics and so forth in place. This is very healthy. Yet, it does also create a feeling of running around in circles.
Most importantly, we did learn a lot past six months. We pivoted from the initial idea to create a swiping game as our entry point to the market. We have now pushed that forward to 2025. We have taken the wise decision to give this ample time, aiming for latest Q2 (Quarter2) of 2025. In terms of development, it doesn’t take extremely long to create such a swiping application. We have described its base functionalities in our whitepaper, and stand by those observations. What happened is NOT-coin caught our eye, and the idea of running our first game through Telegram. You can find more information on our idea of a relatively similar tappping game here. Together with our CTO, we have estimated the development time for a similar game, and it is about one month. We may still tweak it a little, as we go forward. Yet, if you have read all our current documentation, you will understand the gist of the game: plant a seed, grow the seed. To grow the seed, you will need nutritients and water.
Jeroen and Koen, our tree-advisors, told us early on that any planting of trees requires a soil-plan and a water-plan. This relates directly to genuine biodiversity, as well as long term survival of trees. So, it is pretty logical to start with such a mini-game, when having our first membership series thematically revolve around tree planting. The development time is fast.. Anyone can join in and play, similar to Not-coin or STEPN. Only when the gathered virtual tokens can be converted to crypto, then a membership is required to do so. This brings a benefit to owners of a membership, as non-members may want to lease the membership to receive the on-chain tokens. This is the territory of Play-to-Earn. This is where gaming and gamified learning intertwines with financial aspects, which legally require someone to be adult, and which (in due time) must be checked in terms of KYC and AML. This brings opportunity for all of our members, in exchange for action. Please note, it is very important to discern between what different age groups may do within our ecosystem. A school may own a membership, whilst a child of 10 won’t be able to own a membership. Yet, we will aim to invite all to play, observing strict legal boundaries.
Now, imagine one step further. All kinds of people are playing our mini-game. Teams can compete, and the best teams can choose between conversion to our utility token once it is on exchanges. Or, they can choose to donate their tokens to a school, so it can make its playground more green and sustainable. This could effectively bring trees to a school that has only bricks and mortar, to mention only one example. Now, to make that happen, we need to pilot these sequences. Whitelabelling a dashboard is fairly easy and not too costly. So, we know we can deploy all of this swiftly: mini-games, a base application and a dashboard. We have learnt past six months from our pilots, which is interesting to investors. We are working with real people and we know the hurdles some have to take. It has given us insight in how we should guide teams, as well as what they need to translate their ideas to an online presence. these first pilot-teams are now ready to take the next step and show their evolution to our growing community. We will grow mutually and gradually, which is exactly the point of piloting. All teams have to start somewhere.
Now, if we bring all of this together, it is logical that our learning process has made us careful in sending out timelines, which then risk to land in chaos, due to missing deadlines. The difference with a half a year ago is that we have picked up all the elements needed to generate a more up-to-date and extended roadmap, which will be unveiled into coming weeks… The revenue of first phase sales will be used to refine our financial plan, integrate all our ideation into solid tokenomics for our utility token, setting out a realistic roadmap and activation of phase 2 of our sales. Probably after phase 2, we will accordingly adapt our timelines and share these with you. It will help to bring in more investors, as we have sales and pilots ongoing, all documentation in place, a marketing plan which we will execute, and a team ready to go. Expect tokenomics on our Magic Karma utility token to arrive early November 2024 (We know we have a slight delay, and it’s coming soon.) This also implies, we’ll be delivering a revised edition of our whitepaper, which will integrate all we have learnt past six months, observing pivots crucial to our long term growth. We’ll also unveil a more extended roadmap very soon….
